Harnessing Desktop Publishing:
How to Let the New Technology Help You Do Your Job Better

Tilden, Scott W.
Publisher:  Scott Tilden Inc., USA
Year Published:  1987
Pages:  70pp
Book Type:  Handbooks/Manuals

Resource Type:  Book

Abstract:  A book that seems to lack a clear purpose. The first section seems intended primarily to convince the reader that "desktop publishing" is "hot", and that s/he ought therefore to use it. The section on applications is too skimpy to help the beginning user, too basic to be of value to the experienced user. A longer section on how to be a publisher and an editor has some practical information on topics such as typestyles, hyphenation, writing headlines, choosing photos, page design, etc., but is far less useful than a number of existing manuals, such as How to Do Leaflets, Newsletters, and Newspapers, by Nancy Brigham (Hastings House). Not worth the money.
