Abstract: Founded in 1886, the Royal BC Museum includes the provincial museum and archives, surrounded by a cultural precinct housing a collection of significant heritage sites. A Crown corporation since 2003, the RBCM is charged with the collection, preservation and exhibition of artifacts, specimens and documents relating to the province's human and natural history.
